Commissioned by the British Army’s General Staff in 1924, the Vickers Independent was unveiled as a prototype in 1926. Although financial constraints halted further production, the tank’s design influenced several later models, including the British Medium Mark III and Cruiser Mark I. Interestingly, the Soviet T-28, T-35, and T-100 tanks also share striking similarities, a testament to the Vickers Independent's groundbreaking design. Today, the only surviving Vickers A1E1 is preserved as a star exhibit at The Tank Museum in Great Britain.
